StockWarehouse.cntr.us DBX 150 Type I Vintage Noise Reduction Unit Rack Mounting Standard 19" Width Picture may be compressed in width for display purposes. I have this Type 1 DBX Noise Reduction unit that I no longer have a use or need for and I have made it available at a very low cost to you. It has not been used for some time as I no longer have the equipment on hand to currently test it. It worked great when last used and it has been in storage for some time out of its rack where it was installed. The face is in good shape other than it could use a good cleanup from sitting for some time. The only real facial scratching is from the screws on the rack ears where it was installed in a rack. Other than this paint chipped on the rack ears. The face looks great. There is some case scratching on the top from other multiple items being moved in or out of the rach where this was installed over the years.
I will share that these will make an analog open reel tape sound absolutely fantastic. In the last days when this was used. I spent a little time just listening to how nice music was through this noise reduction unit before it was removed from service in the production facility where we had it installed. We used this mainly in broadcast advertising production but I always just enjoyed running some nice music on the Revox 1/2 Track open reel machine we had it setup with while it was in service. Those were wonderful times in the warmth and richness this noise reduction unit would lend to the overall sound quality of the setup this was used within before the days of all digital or harsh audio as many use today. The back panel and case have some rust on it but this never affected the performance of the unit and the rust does not extend inside of the unit if you pull off the cover and look. The unit looks very clean inside and powers up fine with the switches and LED's doing what they should. Beyond this I do not have a way to currently test any other operation or calibration on the unit today. Other than what is mentioned, This treasured DBX 150 Type 1 Noise Reduction unit is just waiting to dress up your own rack and to provide the warm clear and crisp enhancement that real audio enthusiast today are looking for to enhance the playback quality with magnetic tape.
Seller will enclose a PDF e-mailed manual with purchase that explains both the operation and calibration procedures for this unit with your own tape deck to your console to insure the maximum performance operation. These often sell for very premium prices today as a highly sought after vintage collectable and preferred noise reduction unit for analog tape recording needs. You can use this free standing for 2 channel stereo audio processing or add it into a multi channel rack with other DBX 150 units to complete your studio setup and as a nice addition with other sound processors you may currently have installed in your rack! Seller does not expect this unit to sit for long as this is a highly sought after vintage noise reduction unit. My main objective is to liquidate stuff and move it out rather than trying to get rich selling vintage electronic equipment.
