O.E.M. Approved Replacement Power Switch

We are pleased to announce we did it again on Money Saver Special Purchase Import Opportunities. If you own a Technics SL1200MK2, SL1210MK5 or several other vinyl record Technics Turntables that utilize this same switch. We have just made your day. We purchased a very, very large quantity of these replacement parts initially manufactured in Japan for Technics as O.E.M. parts on the last of the Technics 1200 Turntables at the end of their production with the end result of huge quantities of these switches left over which were eventually purchased by the DJ Mates Audio Accessories out of China where they sought to re-brand these switches for their own distribution. Some of these have the DJ Mates house branding on them, others do not as the styles and colors of the cases vary greatly. The one thing they all have in common is regardless of case colors or stamps on them. They have now all been individually tested to confirm proper operation and individually packaged for resale in hanging retail bags with Easy Do-It-Yourself Installation Instructions included in the package.

Do you own a Technics 1200 or similar model turntable with a bad power switch but did not want to spend $120+ in a repair shop to get this fixed ?

On the back of the package, it is targeted toward the Do-It-Yourself Tech/DJ who maybe is not experienced in changing these or is a little nervous but yet who posses basic electronics service skills or is just determined enough to Do It Yourself to save some hard earned cash in this economy.

The package basically says, 

• If You Can Use A Screwdriver, 

• Wire Cutters 

• A Soldering Iron. 

We will add that you should be experienced with a soldering iron or if you are not quite ready to solder this yet, We strongly advise you to practice on something you won't damage or doesn't matter if you do damage it to practice before attempting to install your switch. Before replacing this switch, I would recommend to learn to pre-tin a wire and attach while quickly heating your test connection to learn not to over bake a component of any type. Just another helpful tip for the potential first-time installer of your own switch on a Technics 1200.

You should be able to change the switch with these included instructions and we definitely agree from all we have seen. Other than rather funny English phraseology or sentence structure common with foreign written directions of any type. We give them an A+ in their helpful nature in being on target to help you get your Turntable repaired quickly.

The one extra caution I will through in this listing if you are not experienced with this is to make sure you are comfortable soldering because as these switches are quite small. I could see it highly possible as to someone overheating the leads on the switch and damaging it which is mentioned in the directions but not really elaborated on or emphasized on. I will also add that getting into your Techincs 1200 can be aggravating if you have never dis-assembled one of these and the helpful, easy hints in the directions we think are worth many times more than the small price of the switch designed to save you a whole lot of time and mental aggravation once you read the directions included with this switch.

You might even find the directions a little on the humorous side as the person who wrote these sounds like he could have written fortune cookies at one time in his life too! We learned the DJ Mates Co operator is a Veteran Chinese DJ who really loves Spinning Vinyl and was most knowledgeable and personable with us in the assistance of our large lot purchase on these switches we now have available for you at bargain China Pricing!

As mentioned these were initially manufactured in Japan under Japanese high quality control standards that have made the Technics SL1200 Most Timeless dating back to the 1970s in the Disco craze and still going strong today with thousands and thousands still in service with almost no noticeable changes in the original design. As mentioned the DJ Mates Accessory Co in China purchased this lot where we negotiated this import deal with them to save you even more on a true Japanese manufactured part! The original part had the roller level and the later ones in the final turntables had the bent lever as shown below which was a cost cutting measure never the less adopted by Technics in the end of production cycle of these most sought after Turntables.

We found DJ Mates to really care about product quality and they really went out of there way to share with us about their enthusiasm in the product distribution and very high level of customer service in our acquisition of these switches. They sent us this wall poster shown below which we quickly photographed and converted into this site graphic to share with you the level of detail they have demonstrated in their commitment to their product quality.

Some of our own people here at your Stock Warehouse Center have done our fair share of repairs on Technics 1200 Turntables as well with this being the most common and a fairly easy repair if you know what you are doing. In our own efforts we have made it a point just to open and test now a pretty high number of these switches just to confirm the DJ Mates claim of individually tested and our own test on these switches have all been 100% positive in both operation and in continuity test indicating a working switch. Our opinion this is probably the most safe bet unless you want to import an original Panasonic Switch yourself at what I consider to be a fairly premium price as seen on this page ad. If you want one from Panasonic, we also have the original somewhat discounted in the original Technics/Panasonic Parts package. You might want to take note of what their original package looks like just in case you see others trying to pass off imitations to you. We have found this switch to a most cost effective solution for a great fix on your turntable!
